The japanese kanji 和 means peace in english. Until the 8th Century, generally referred to the nation with the character ［倭］and the sound “Wa” or “Yamato”. In the 8th Century, many Japanese began to find the character to be offensive and initiated the process to replace it with the character ［和］meaning peace, harmony, or balance.

Thats the kanji alphabet right? Well, though I am white myself, I have noticed a good portion of my black friends have taken to Japanese culture & anime in recent years Though generally they aren't the weeaboo type (i.e - where anime and excessive video gaming can correlate with an unattractive personality) They retain those "i am a cool individual" traits whilst also expressing their appreciation for anime typically through their fashion. This shirt is at once hip, street and eastern. Given the popularity of anime/Japan in the west nowadays you'll be able to make a rather prompt statement with this colorful tshirt (It reflects your personality)
Thanks for the feedback
